GIRL NARRATES HER RAPE ORDEAL(zambia daily mail court news)

A 16 year old girl of chipasha in kamfinsa has narrated how a 25 year old man allegedly covered her mouth with his hand,dragged her into a nearby bush and raped her.this is the case of pride chipaila,a farmer of kamfinsa in kitwe who is charged with rape.it is alleged that on may 4,2013 in kitwe,zambia,had unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl without her consent.chipaila pleaded not guilty when appeared before kitwe senior resident magistrate daniel musonda. but during her evidence-in-chief led by public prosecutor dean akalemwa on tuesday,the 16 year old rape victim narrated that she and her twin sister had gone to fetch water at a nearby well when they picked up a quarrel.the girl narrated that after a quarrel,she left her sister at the well and returned home.she recalled that on her way home,she met chipaila who grabbed her,covered her mouth and dragged her into a nearby bush.she testified that chipaila allegedly threatened to kill her if she screamed.the girl told the court that when she returned home,family members were forced to inspect her becoz she was crying and refused to eat.the mother testified that she immediately reported the matter to the police after discovering that her daughter had been raped.she said police accompanied her and her daugher to kitwe central hospital were she was examinf.in cross-examination the girls mother said she was sure that her daughter had been raped and the doctor comfirmed it.mr musonda adjourned the cased to may 31 2013 for ruling i will get u updated
